Candle Care and Safety
Always keep a burning candle within sight. Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
Trim candlewicks to 1/4 inch each time before burning. Long or crooked wicks cause uneven burning, flickering and dripping.
Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents and air currents. This will help prevent rapid, uneven burning, smoking and excessive dripping. Ceiling fans can cause drafts. Any candle can be made to smoke by causing the flame to flicker.
Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times. Extinguish the flame if it comes too close to the holder or container. Never touch or move a votive or container candle when the wax is liquid. Extinguish pillar candles if the wax pool approaches the outer edge. Do not extinguish candles with water.
Rub candles with fine mesh stockings to remove minor surface blemishes and fingerprints. For more helpful tips to care for your candles, please visit the national candle association website. |

The story of the giving candle |
|
A single mother, at the end of her wick and burning the candle at both ends, decided to go into business for herself - and for her child. She wanted to do more than help her family. She wanted to create a product that people would enjoy that could also make a difference in the lives of others. Her mother taught her candle making when she was a child, so she decided to make candles her new venture. To her delight, her candles received glowing reviews! Immediately, she began giving 10% of the proceeds to local charities, as a way to give back for all the help she received as a struggling single mother. Thus, the giving candle was born. Each candle is hand poured, packed, and sealed with the giving candle mark of excellence - to ensure every candle is a candle worth giving™. |
